Pro/Engineer Geometry Checks
Geometry Checks in Pro/Engineer are potential errors in your model, but not always. Many can be ignored such as 'Design Intent is Unclear'. Others must be corrected or you run the risk of errors in the geometry when creating tooling or production parts.
- Non-Manifold Geometry
- This refers to 2 sections of geometry attached by a point or line. Think of a pyramid upside down on another pyramid. These will sometimes be covered over by later features. Make sure that is the case or fix them.
- Could Not Be Constructed
- This is is often gometry that Pro/E cannot technically determine the mathematical solution to, however, will often still display. It can often cause problems for tool makers and must be fixed.
- Self-Intersection
- Usually you will see this on rounds and it usually means that your radius is larger than the radius it is wrapping around. Mathematically, the tangency line at the corner will fold over on itself. Make the round smaller (or the underlying round larger) to solve this problem.
