Most Graphic Designers use Adobe Illustrator for decal layouts and often supply Pro/Engineer users with DXF files that have been exported from Illustrator. Prior to Illustrator CS, this conversion had a flaw with the scaling.

Use the following numbers to accurately import these files to the correct scale:

To Export from Illustrator to provide an accurate scale in Pro/E, scale the size to 3.938% of the original. The same applies to importing a dxf into Pro/E that was exported at full scale from Illustrator. Once the file is imported into Pro/E, select all lines and scale to 3.938%.

To import a Pro/E exported DXF into Illustrator, once the file is imported, use Illustrator to scale it to 2539.5%.

Again, keep in mind that this only applies to Illustrator prior to CS.
